Hello Yosemite Families!
We had such a blast this week learning about turkeys and thanksgiving traditions! We did our scholastic weekly reader on turkeys that taught us about how they are born, how a group of them are called a flock, and what their wattle is/does for their bodies!
We did a class chart on which thanksgiving staple was our favorite and added ones that we thought should be served at our families feast! (vegetables tied with pumpkin pie for first place!)
We had our own thanksgiving dinner in dramatic play with lots of new play food and some special guests!
Our science center was based on what turkeys and other birds eat. We sorted lots of seeds and cranberries!
We made our own form of pumpkin pie using crescent rolls, pumpkin puree, and pumpkin pie spice!
Our sensory table we played with corn and cranberries to create lots of fun “cakes!”
At recess we built our own treehouse out of lots of sticks and logs found on the playground! We used teamwork to create it and everyone got their own branches to add!
We made wreaths in our art center!
In handwriting without tears we worked on capital letters and numbers 2 and 3!
We had lots of fun games like shape pizza making, white boards, hygiene puzzles, and magnetic dress up!
This week we had so much fun! Please don’t forget we have Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday off for the holiday!
Happy Thanksgiving! Yosemite Teachers
