Hello Olympic Families,
This week in Olympic we learned about summer sports.
We turned dramatic play into an ice skating rank. We used white bulletin board paper and contact paper to create an ice rink.
At science center we explored the different types of sports balls, by discovering which had a bounce to them and which ones didn’t.
We added magnet tiles to block center with these neat excelleration mats we found in our closet of wonders. The excelleration mats are like big tanagram mats for magnet tiles and can also be used with light tables. The mats help children symmetry and patterning, create larger shapes and even 3-D shapes plus so much more.
We recently got a new CD player. We put our old one in our music Center for the kids to explore and use on their own. We also added some bells to music Center this week.
We learned about Pool Safety with our weekly reader and the importance of why we do not go swimming without an adult present.
We created our own sports balls at art center using different materials such as tissue paper, construction paper, glue, and paper plates.
We also made Banana Oat Muffins
We had a blast this week in Olympic.
We are closed next week for shut down week.
If you’d like to come check out the new playground on July 5th our time is 1:50-2:30.
Have a wonderful Fourth of July break!
