Hello from Grand Teton! This week we learned about a BUNCH of little critters! We learned about bugs, bees, caterpillars, butterflies, spiders, and more! We sang some great songs like “The Itsy Bitsy Spider”, “5 Little Bees”, and “The Ants Go Marching”. We also read some fun books like Eric Carle’s “The Very Busy Spider” and “The Very Hungry Caterpillar”.
We started the week off with a firefly finger painting project to practice our fine motor skills. Fireflies are so fascinating!
To practice our gross motor skills, we did a “squash the bug” activity. We crawled around and slapped the paper flies and ants that were taped on the floor. It was lots of fun! We also did a group spider web project, where we shook a large bin as a group, and rolled a paint-covered ball over paper.
We wrapped up our week with a few more fun bug-themed activities, such as “bugs in the mud” sensory bags, honeybee sensory bags, and a “glue trap” fine motor activity. It was a very buzzzzy week, but SO MUCH FUN! We’ll be missing everyone next week, and look forward to coming back after break to learn about our beautiful country and community helpers! Have an amazing week off!!!
