Hello Yosemite families! This week we learned all about Antarctica, and its most notable habitants… Penguins! On Monday we learned about Antarctica, how it is even cold in the summer, and why the polar bears live “on top” and the penguins live “on the bottom”.
During work boards we used penguins to practice writing letters.
We helped the momma penguins march across Antarctica to get food for the daddy and baby penguins.
At the block area we used styrofoam and recycled applesauce cups to make icebergs and glaciers for our penguins to play on.
We practiced writing our names, and pretended to be penguins!
In our water table we played with ice blocks and penguins and pretended to they were Antarctica!
Have a great weekend!
