Dear Yosemite Families,
We have had a busy and shorter week at Parkside. Monday we experimented with how blubber keeps Arctic animals warm. We used a bag filled with shortening to simulate blubber. We then took turns putting one hand in the ‘blubber’ and dipping it in ice water. We put our unprotected hand in too, to compare how well blubber keeps skin warm. We will continue to learn about Arctic animals and habitats through books and work board activities.
We sent the class list of names on the back of the curriculum for Valentines’ cards. While cards are optional, we ask that all are given cards, and not a select few friends.
Have a great day!
